Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants and participates in a collaborative approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, forming individualized care plans.
• Identify patient education needs and collaborate with patients and the interdisciplinary team for goal setting.
• Provide timely communication of patient status during team conferences.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, prioritizing education and patient involvement.
• Initiate discharge planning upon patient admission, including anticipation of teaching before discharge.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Support and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, providing direction and training as needed.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

Required Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift for select facilities.
