Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Medical-Surgical ICU position requiring 2 years of experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and prior travel experience.

Details

• Medical-Surgical ICU setting within a hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) using block scheduling
• 13-week assignment length
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
• 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory skills including chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management experience
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• IV insulin protocol experience
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE knowledge
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to medical-surgical ICU patients including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and renal cases
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
• Travelers residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be contracted
• Former staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted for this position
• Up to 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers may be considered based on position requirements
