Description

American Traveler is hiring a Home Health RN with home health experience and OASIS proficiency for a skilled nursing role covering a 40-80 mile territory.

Details

• Home Health setting serving a diverse, high-acuity adult patient population with limited resources
• Average caseload of 5-20 visits per day using a daily productivity point system
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM-4:30 PM)
• Every 4th weekend rotation working both Saturday and Sunday, with corresponding days off around the scheduled weekend
• On-call rotation of 3-5 nights per month, only on nights already scheduled to work during the day
• No floating outside of home health scope required
• Covers a territory with a 40-80 mile radius
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (must match permanent residence for compact)
• BLS certification required
• IV certification preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of med-surg or acute care experience, or minimum 1 year of home health/home care experience required
• Prior skilled home health experience required, specifically at a hospital-affiliated home health service
• OASIS documentation experience required
• Experience with clinical skills including phlebotomy, PleurX, catheter and port access/maintenance, PT/INR finger sticks, wound VAC and wound care, ventilator management, and compression wraps
• Cardiac experience with CADD pumps, handheld devices, and ECG/telemetry interpretation preferred
• Pending license accepted at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide skilled home health nursing care including antibiotic infusions, lab draws, IV care, ostomy care, tube feeding, wound care, foley care, and disease management
• Cardiac team responsibilities may include inotrope and dobutamine/milrinone infusions, IVP Lasix administration, and post-op care
• Conduct clinical assessments, admission assessments, and routine visits with a focus on patient education and socioeconomic/medical needs assessment
• Scrub color required is royal blue, with closed-toe shoes; candidates must provide their own stethoscope
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius, as no local candidates are accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• Standard travelers may stay for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
