Description

American Traveler is hiring a Home Health RN with skilled home care experience and OASIS training for a day-shift position requiring at least one year of experience.

Details

  • Provides skilled home health visits for patients with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance
  • Manages 6-8 home skilled visits per day
  • Cares for patients with high-risk diagnoses including heart failure, COPD, MI, pneumonia, and stroke
  • Performs cardiopulmonary assessments, basic wound care, ABI compression dressings, and wound vac dressing changes
  • Provides Pleurx/Aseptdrain care, foley catheter changes, and staple/suture removal
  • Utilizes glucometer and pro-time machine for patient monitoring
  • Administers SQ/IM injections and performs venipuncture for lab draws
  • Manages PICC line, midline, and SQ port access/deaccess and dressing changes
  • Schedule includes Mon-Fri shifts varying between 8a-5p and 9a-6p, as well as Thurs-Mon or Fri-Tues rotations
  • Alternating weekend shifts required
  • Uses BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet documentation systems
  • Self-scheduling of visits and hours based on HomeCare office needs

Requirements

  • Active FL or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of skilled home health care experience required (private duty nursing experience alone not accepted)
  • OASIS training and experience required
  • IV skills and wound care experience required
  • Experience with general medical diagnoses and high-risk conditions (HF, COPD, MI, pneumonia, stroke) required
  • Post-op care experience required
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and have access to a car for home visits
  • Cerner experience preferred
  • Experience as a travel nurse with more than one completed assignment preferred

Additional Information

  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility unless exempt due to local acceptance
  • Must be COVID vaccinated or have an exemption form on file
  • Must have flu shot or declination; mandatory mask wearing required in both cases while at work
  • Solid color scrubs required
  • Former BayCare permanent employees must wait at least 12 months before returning as a travelers
  • Must be willing to float within the assigned hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
  • RTO is not permitted under standard travel contracts
