    Travel Physical Therapist (W2 Employee) – Home Health

    EMPLOYMENT STATUS

    • Position Type: W2 Employee

    • Classification: Non-Exempt 

    • Assignment Type: Travel / Temporary Placement

    • Typical Assignment Length: 13 weeks 

    • Schedule: Days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

    COMPENSATION

    • Weekly pay with taxable wages and, when applicable, non-taxable stipends (housing, meals, incidentals)

    • Overtime in accordance with federal and state laws

    • Travel reimbursement and/or housing support

    ASSIGNMENT EXPECTATIONS

    • Assignments based on client needs; flexibility may be required for multiple patients or float coverage

    • Adhere to client-specific policies, procedures, and productivity standards

    • Extensions may be offered based on performance and client needs

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Travel Physical Therapist provides skilled physical therapy in patients’ homes to restore, maintain, and promote mobility, independence, and quality of life.

    POPULATION SERVED

    • Adults and geriatric patients

    • Post-surgical, acute, or chronic conditions

    • Patients requiring mobility, balance, or functional rehabilitation



    Requirements

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program

    • Active PT license in assigned state(s)

    • CPR/BLS certification

    • Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience preferred

    • Travel flexibility and ability to adapt to home environments

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Evaluate patient mobility, strength, and functional status

    • Develop and implement individualized care plans

    • Provide therapy interventions (exercise, gait training, functional mobility)

    • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and equipment

    • Recommend and train in use of durable medical equipment (DME)

    • Complete accurate and timely documentation per client and regulatory standards

    • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants if applicable

    PRODUCTIVITY & PERFORMANCE

    • Meet client-established visit and documentation targets

    • Maintain high-quality care while meeting productivity standards

    • Participate in audits and performance improvement initiatives

    WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Home visits may require lifting, bending, walking stairs, and assisting patients (up to 50 lbs)

    • Driving between homes is required

    • Exposure to household hazards, infectious diseases, and bodily fluids

    COMPLIANCE & TRAINING

    • HIPAA, infection control, and safety protocols

    • Abuse, neglect, and exploitation prevention

    • Emergency procedures and OSHA compliance

    • Client-specific onboarding and competency training
