Job Description & Requirements
Occupational Therapist - Home Health - (OT - HH)
StartDate: 8/17/2026 Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $2361.00 - $2433.00
This travel Home Health Occupational Therapist position is based in Kirkland, Washington, a picturesque lakeside city on the eastern shore of Lake Washington. Kirkland offers a welcoming, community-oriented atmosphere with stunning waterfront views, walkable neighborhoods, and easy access to both Seattle and Bellevue. The city is known for its vibrant downtown with boutique shops, restaurants, and cafés, as well as its scenic parks, public art, and year-round community events, making it an ideal destination for travelers who appreciate both outdoor adventures and urban amenities. As a traveler in Kirkland, you can enjoy strolls along the waterfront, explore nearby marinas and beaches, and take advantage of the extensive walking and biking trails throughout the area. Kirkland’s proximity to the greater Seattle region gives you quick access to cultural attractions such as museums, music venues, and regional festivals, plus opportunities for day trips to the mountains, Puget Sound, and wine country. The area’s blend of nature and city life offers a balanced lifestyle during your assignment, with plenty of options for dining, coffee culture, and local shopping after your workday. In this home health role, you will be part of a coordinated, patient-focused care setting that emphasizes safety, independence, and quality of life in the home. You will manage a daily caseload of patients in their residences across Kirkland and nearby communities, performing comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering interventions that support functional mobility, ADL and IADL performance, and home safety. Your typical day may include conducting initial assessments, revisiting patients for follow-up treatments, implementing fall prevention strategies, teaching energy conservation and pacing techniques, and recommending adaptive equipment or environmental modifications to help patients live as independently as possible. You will provide extensive patient and caregiver education, collaborate closely with nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, and social work, and communicate regularly with the broader care team to monitor progress and adjust plans of care. Documentation is completed using a home health electronic medical record, and you will be expected to maintain accurate, timely charting to support regulatory and quality standards. Visit volumes and productivity expectations are set to balance efficient use of your time with a strong emphasis on individualized, high-quality therapeutic care. You will travel between patient homes throughout the day, so comfort with independent field work, route planning, and flexible scheduling is important. Work hours are generally full-time with daytime shifts typical of home health practice, with some variation based on patient needs and visit timing. Caseloads primarily consist of adult and geriatric patients with post-acute, orthopedic, neurologic, cardiopulmonary, and complex medical conditions, giving you the opportunity to apply broad clinical skills and deepen your experience in community-based rehabilitation. This traveler-friendly environment supports clear communication, collaboration, and a professional culture focused on respect, patient safety, and continuous improvement, making it an attractive setting for Occupational Therapists looking to enhance their skills and experience while enjoying all that the Kirkland area has to offer.
