Job Summary:
Histologist - Days - This position involves processing and preparing tissue samples in a clinical laboratory environment. The role requires attention to detail in tissue embedding, sectioning, and staining, supporting the accurate diagnosis and research activities within the department.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited histology technician (HT) program within the last 5 years OR an Associate's degree or at least 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university, including a minimum of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry; 2 years of relevant experience; Licenses and Certifications (PA) American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification; Basic Life Support (BLS); Act 34 clearance
- Preferred Qualifications: HR credential preferred
- Additional Information: The candidate will process and prepare surgical and autopsy tissue specimens for embedding, cutting, staining, and cover slipping, performing quality control checks at each phase. The role supports the departments academic mission and involves routine tasks such as filing, cleaning, and stocking supplies.
