Receives tissue specimens from clinical services and autopsy suite, determines if specimens are labeled as to type of specimens and assigns surgical pathology or autopsy accession number to specimens. Assists the pathologist in gross dissection of tissue and submission of tissue for histology examination and checks for proper accession number.
