Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our high-acuity float pool. The ideal candidate will possess EPIC experience and prior floating experience, demonstrating the capability to adapt to various units within a hospital environment.

Unit Information

The float pool encompasses a variety of units, including:

  • Critical Care Unit
  • Observation
  • Medical-Surgical
  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Short Stay Surgery
  • Thoracic Surgery
  • Neurosurgery
  • Oncology
  • Telemetry
  • Progressive Care

Patient Ratios

The standard staffing follows AACN CCU guidelines, with assignments typically being:

  • 1-2 patients for high acuity assignments
  • 1-3 patients for lower acuity assignments or those with transfer orders

Required Certifications

All candidates must possess the following certifications:

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU
  • High acuity experience preferred

Nursing Duties

Registered Nurses in this role will be required to:

  • Titrate IV drips, including but not limited to Epi, Norepi, Dobutamine, Propofol, Esmolol, Hydromorphone, and Midazolam
  • Work with respiratory therapy equipment, including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP

Shift Details

This position requires:

  • Self-scheduling options available
  • A commitment to at least 3 weekend shifts per schedule
  • Holiday availability

Orientation and Training

New hires will attend a comprehensive orientation process which includes:

  • General Hospital Orientation
  • Myles Modules training
  • Cerner Validation Class
  • Unit-specific orientation with hands-on training

Location

This opportunity is available in multiple locations within the region, specifically in Seattle, WA.

Cancellation Policy

The institution reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts for 13-week assignments and 3 shifts for assignments with a duration of less than 13 weeks.
