Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float Pool RN for a night shift position requiring 36 months of progressive care, stepdown, or med surg experience and Epic EMR proficiency.
Details
- Nursing Float pool covering Med Surg and Stepdown units
- Floats between Med Surg and Stepdown as needed
- Night shift, 3x12s, 1900-0730, 36 hrs/week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Patient ratios of 1:4/5 days/evenings and 1:6 nights on the Med Surg side
- Cares for all types of med surg and stepdown patients
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (Iowa or Compact/Multistate) required
- BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- Minimum 36 months of progressive care, stepdown, or med surg/medical surgical experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience administering and titrating nitro, heparin, and amiodarone required
- Stepdown experience preferred
- Critical care experience a plus
- Neurology and oncology care experience preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference within the past 24 months preferred
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care across Med Surg and Stepdown units as part of a float pool team
- Required to work 1-2 of 3 designated holidays each holiday season (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's or Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
- Scrub colors limited to black or navy
- Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from working travel assignments at any UPH facility or market
