Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 2.5 years of Level II trauma center experience and a CA RN license in hand.

Details

  • Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • STEMI Certified and Stroke Certified facility
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (1900-0730)
  • Weekend shifts required per departmental needs
  • No on-call requirements
  • No floating outside of the unit, though census-based floating within the hospital may occur
  • Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (CPI and TNCC preferred)
  • Minimum 2.5 years of RN experience in a large Level II trauma center required
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation required
  • Experience with IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation monitoring required
  • Experience in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic trauma required
  • One professional reference required within the past 2 years
  • Current Nursys report required, pulled within 2 weeks of consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma and medical cases, including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and head injuries
  • Neuro-trauma experience such as CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
  • Pediatric emergency care experience preferred
  • Holiday RTO cannot be guaranteed and will be reviewed based on facility availability closer to the holidays
  • All requested RTO must be submitted in advance and cannot be added after initial consideration
  • First-time travelers are accepted if they meet the 2.5-year trauma experience requirement
  • Previous permanent staff of the facility are not eligible for consideration
  • Local candidates accepted, though at a lower rate
