Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 2 Trauma Center, requiring at least one year of ED travel experience and MD or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • 54-bed Level 2 Trauma Center Emergency Department seeing an average of 220 patients per day
  • Fast-paced, high-acuity general ED serving combined adult/pediatric populations
  • STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
  • EPIC charting system required
  • Floating required in rotation with facility staff based on clinical experience and unit policies
  • Expect to work some holidays and weekends

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MD or Compact) currently in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • At least 1 year of ED travel experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and blood product administration
  • Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response
  • Trauma and shock care experience, including gunshot wound management
  • Ortho trauma and CVA care experience
  • Proficiency in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
  • 2-Step PPD and Flu vaccine required with no exemptions

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a high-acuity, high-volume patient population in a Level 2 Trauma Center
  • Central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring are preferred skills
  • RTO must be approved prior to assignment start
  • Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after a 1-year assignment before returning as a traveler
  • Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
  • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to travel experience requirement
