Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and previous travel experience.

Details

  • Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
  • May be assigned to either of two area locations
  • Night shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
  • Open to working 3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts per week
  • Meditech charting system experience preferred
  • Travel pairs accepted but must maintain flexible scheduling

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IN or Compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of ED specialty experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience caring for ventilated patients and administering emergency medications
  • Experience managing IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation preferred
  • Skilled in managing neurological emergencies including CVA
  • Experience handling psychiatric presentations including drug overdose, violent behavior, psychiatric holds, and suicidal patients
  • Proficient in cardiac monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and splint application
  • Professional reference required within the last 12 months from a direct supervisor

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
  • Past permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for travel assignment consideration
  • First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
