Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Midland, Texas

Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
- Location: Midland, Texas
- Specialty: Emergency Room Nursing / Emergency Department RN
- Healthcare Setting: 42-bed Emergency Department with approximately 200 daily visits
- Patient Population: Neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Assignment Length: Approximately 10 weeks
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours weekly
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Position Type: Travel RN contract
Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending licensure may be considered, but an active license is required before the start date
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience in a facility of comparable size
- Level II or Level III trauma experience
- Recent Emergency Department travel nursing experience preferred, ideally within the past 6–8 months
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
- NRP credentialing may be required based on patient-care needs
- Strong preference for candidates with 5–8 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Cerner electronic health record and clinical documentation experience preferred
- Ability to work some holidays and meet travel assignment compliance requirements
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Perform rapid assessment, triage, stabilization, treatment, and reassessment of patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
- Provide safe, compassionate emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients across a broad range of acuity levels
- Care for patients experiencing trauma, respiratory infections, seizures, cerebrovascular accidents (CVA), overdose, burns, spinal cord injuries, psychiatric emergencies, and multisystem conditions
- Administer emergency medications, blood products, IV therapies, and vasopressors according to established protocols
- Manage patients requiring ventilatory support, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube care, central line care, procedural sedation monitoring, and emergency airway intervention
- Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs, monitor dysrhythmias, and recognize changes in patient condition
- Apply splints and provide care for wounds, traumatic amputations, head injuries, and other acute injuries
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation and collaborate with respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Promote patient safety through effective communication, isolation precautions, behavioral health interventions, and recognition of potential abuse or neglect
