Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a valid OK or compact RN license and prior ED experience.

Details

  • Adult Emergency Department setting in a hospital environment
  • 36 hours per week, three 12-hour day shifts
  • Trauma and travel experience required
  • Cares for a variety of patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact license (eNLC)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum of one year of RN experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theories, practices, and techniques
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills

Additional Information

  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
  • Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicates care plans with patients and families and educates them on hospital procedures and discharge planning
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
  • Travelers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
  • Compliance documentation (background check, drug screen, and medical requirements) must be completed promptly, as start dates will not be pushed for non-compliance
