Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for night shifts requiring 2 years of ER experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Non-trauma ER within a STEMI and Stroke certified facility
  • 1:4 patient ratio
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:45-7:15) with option for 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Epic charting system used
  • Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs, with brief unit orientation provided

Requirements

  • Active RN license (OK state or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required in hand
  • 2 years of ER experience preferred, though candidates with less may be considered
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skilled in emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and trauma presentations
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of critical medications such as vasopressors and sedation
  • Proficient in triage, EKG interpretation, splinting, and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a broad range of conditions including cardiac events, strokes, trauma, respiratory distress, and psychiatric crises
  • Navy scrub color required
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
  • Local candidates are not accepted
  • Former staff members must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • RTO must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
