Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of ER experience and a valid CA RN license.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting within an acute care, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital that is a Level II Trauma Center
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • No floating required outside scope
  • No on-call requirements
  • Weekend shifts required
  • Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required (hard stop)
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, MAB, NIHSS
  • Preferred certifications: CCRN, CPI, TNCC
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, IV vasopressors, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Triage skills strongly preferred
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred
  • Prior travel experience preferred, though candidates with strong ER experience will be considered
  • DOB, RTO, valid state license, certification copies, references, and COVID vaccination status required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care within a fast-paced trauma center setting
  • Strict dress code: no facial hair, acrylic nails, unnatural hair colors, visible piercings other than earlobe earrings, and all tattoos must be covered
  • Scrubs may be any color except camouflage or character patterns
  • Orientation includes facility modules averaging 3-6 hours to complete
  • Free parking available
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate
  • Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
