Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring Level II or III trauma experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting treating a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Level II or III trauma experience required
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Some holiday coverage expected

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (must be willing to obtain if offered)
  • NIHSS certification required; NRP certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience in a facility of equivalent size required, 5-8 years preferred
  • Recent ER travel experience within the past 6-8 months preferred
  • Skilled in trauma care including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and multisystem organ dysfunction
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
  • Proficient in airway and respiratory management including intubation, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and ventilator care
  • Experience with IV therapy, central line care, and blood product administration
  • Skilled in managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, and violent behavior
  • Pediatric emergency care skills including asthma, burns, head injury, and respiratory infection
  • Experience with emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a trauma setting
  • Perform triage and maintain isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • Apply splints and manage orthopedic injuries as needed
  • Identify and report signs of neglect or abuse
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • On-site drug screening is conducted upon arrival, including testing for marijuana, with any positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
