Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with combined adult and pediatric ER experience for a 12-hour day shift assignment requiring a PA license or compact.

Details

  • Level I/II Trauma Center Emergency Department setting
  • General ER treating combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM (block scheduling considered but not guaranteed)
  • Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday)
  • No on-call requirement
  • No floating requirement
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active PA RN license or compact license required at time of consideration
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the ER specialty required
  • 3 years of charge nurse experience preferred
  • General ER experience with combined adult and pediatric populations required
  • Level I and II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, blood product administration, respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, ABG interpretation), continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation monitoring, and cardiac dysrhythmia management
  • Experience with neurological emergencies including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury required
  • Arterial line management skills preferred
  • Valid references and certification copies required for consideration
  • Valid state license required at time of consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases in a Level I/II Trauma Center
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • PA fingerprint clearance and Childline results required, which may involve travel and processing time
  • Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing
  • Pass/fail clinical exam required for clearance with a maximum of three attempts
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
  • RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no additional time off accommodated after submission
