Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications on a full-time weekend night shift schedule.
Details
- Emergency Department setting caring for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric
- Full-time weekender schedule covering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, 7pm-7am
- Holiday coverage required if a holiday falls on a scheduled weekend shift
- Uses ESI 5-level triage process for patient assessment
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or active Compact Licensure required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (ATCN preferred)
- Two-year nursing degree required, four-year degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
Additional Information
- Coordinate nursing care for ED patients across the full continuum from illness to wellness
- Perform age-appropriate assessments and deliver safe, effective care to all age groups
- Document patient care using medical terminology in a legally and medically sound ED record
- Collaborate with providers, peers, ancillary departments, and outside agencies for efficient patient care
- Prioritize and coordinate care for multiple patients to ensure timely, quality care and optimal patient flow
- Monitor life support and technical equipment, administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and perform emergency resuscitation
- Respond calmly and efficiently to crisis situations, directing others and using appropriate delegation
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and stock rooms before shift completion
- Demonstrate proficiency in computerized patient documentation systems
