Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Location: Portland, Oregon
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• End Date: January 25, 2027
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call: Not required
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 4:1
• Department Profile: 73-bed emergency department with approximately 160 patients per day and a diverse urban patient population
• Charting: Epic electronic health record
• Additional Requirement: Reliable personal vehicle required
• Floating: May be required to support other units or nearby locations based on department needs and clinical competency
• Holiday Availability: Commitment to work 3 of 5 designated holidays may be required

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional Registered Nurse experience required; 2 or more years of emergency department nursing experience strongly preferred
• Recent experience caring for patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department
• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Oregon; an active compact license must be in hand when applicable
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Previous Epic electronic health record experience required
• Ability to care for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Strong emergency nursing assessment, prioritization, communication, and crisis-management skills
• Ability to adapt to floating requirements, changing patient acuity, and the demands of travel nursing
• Two professional references covering at least one year of recent experience

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessments, triage, reassessments, and evidence-based emergency nursing interventions
• Provide care for medical, surgical, psychiatric, pediatric, trauma, stroke, STEMI, and multisystem emergency patients
• Manage patients requiring airway support, ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, central lines, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and continuous infusions
• Recognize and respond to clinical deterioration, dysrhythmias, sepsis, CVA, overdose, behavioral health emergencies, and other high-risk conditions
• Administer medications and blood products safely while monitoring patient response
• Initiate and maintain IV access, obtain 12-lead ECGs, interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases, and support emergency procedures
• Provide compassionate emergency care to patients and families during urgent and stressful situations
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic
• Float to other supported units or locations when needed to maintain safe patient care and operational coverage
