Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160

- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 4:1
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call: Not required
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Environment: High-volume Emergency Department with approximately 183 visits per day and a diverse metro-area patient population
- Float Expectation: May float to other units or nearby partner facilities based on department needs, patient holding, or sitter assignments
Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience required; 2 or more years of Emergency Department experience preferred
- First-time travel nurses are welcome with more than 3 years of relevant clinical experience
- Current Registered Nurse license for Oregon or a compact license in hand at submission
- Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Demonstrated Emergency Department nursing experience with adult and pediatric patients
- Epic electronic health record charting experience required
- Experience caring for medical boarders, behavioral health patients, and high-acuity emergency presentations
- Ability to work nights, every other weekend, and 3 of 5 designated holidays during the assignment
- Reliable vehicle required due to potential floating responsibilities
- Two professional references covering at least one year of work experience within the past three years
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Perform rapid triage, focused assessments, reassessments, and prioritization of care based on acuity and workload intensity
- Manage patients with medical emergencies, trauma presentations, stroke, STEMI, respiratory infections, seizures, overdose, behavioral health conditions, and multisystem complications
- Administer emergency medications, blood products, IV therapies, procedural sedation, and continuous infusions according to established protocols
- Monitor and care for patients requiring ventilatory support, BiPAP/CPAP, arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, vasopressors, and dysrhythmia management
- Assist with or perform emergency procedures such as IV placement, phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and airway-related interventions within scope and competency
- Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate findings to providers and the interdisciplinary care team
- Support safe care transitions for admitted patients, including medical and behavioral health boarders
- Float as assigned while maintaining safe patient care, clear documentation, and effective collaboration across departments
