Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) – Travel Nursing Assignment in Newberg, Oregon

Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
  • Assignment Type: 13-week Emergency Department travel assignment
  • Location: Newberg, Oregon, near the Portland metropolitan area
  • Start Date: October 26, 2026
  • End Date: January 25, 2027
  • Shifts: 3 shifts per week
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule: Variable evening and night shifts, including 2:00 p.m.–2:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
  • Emergency Department: 15 rooms and approximately 80 visits per day, serving neonates through geriatric patients
  • Documentation System: Epic
  • Floating: May be required to other units or nearby sister facilities based on patient-care needs
  • Parking: No-fee parking available

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Oregon; compact license must be in hand at submission when applicable
  • At least 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
  • Recent Epic electronic health record charting experience
  • Experience caring for adult, pediatric, adolescent, infant, neonatal, and geriatric patients
  • Level II trauma experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain an approximate 1:4 patient ratio
  • Reliable vehicle required for the travel nursing assignment
  • Availability to work every other weekend and assigned holidays as needed
  • Ability to float between units or nearby facilities in accordance with patient-care needs
  • Two professional references covering at least 1 year of recent work experience within the last 3 years

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
  • Perform rapid assessment, triage, reassessment, and patient prioritization according to acuity
  • Manage medical, behavioral health, orthopedic, neurologic, respiratory, infectious, and trauma-related emergencies
  • Administer emergency medications, blood products, IV therapies, and vasopressors as ordered
  • Monitor and care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, ventilatory support, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and procedural sedation
  • Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, stroke symptoms, STEMI concerns, seizures, overdose, burns, and multisystem organ dysfunction
  • Initiate and maintain IV access, obtain 12-lead EKGs, perform phlebotomy, and assist with stabilization and transfer of higher-acuity patients
  • Provide care for psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, violent behavior, and other behavioral health conditions using safe de-escalation practices
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
  • Float to other units or nearby facilities when needed while maintaining high standards of patient care
