- Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every third weekend and every other holiday
- On-Call: May be assigned during periods of low census
- Floating: Prescheduled floating to nearby regional locations may be required based on staffing needs
Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Emergency Room or Emergency Department nursing experience
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications
- Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Recent EPIC electronic health record charting experience required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in required weekend and holiday rotations
- Comfort serving as Charge RN when assigned
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
- Perform focused assessments, triage, ongoing monitoring, and timely clinical interventions
- Administer medications and treatments while following established emergency care protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, efficient patient care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in EPIC
- Respond effectively to urgent and emergent patient conditions
- Assume Charge RN responsibilities during designated shifts
- Support Emergency Department operations through teamwork, adaptability, and participation in scheduled floating assignments when needed
