Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a busy Emergency Department requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

  • 32-bed Emergency Department with average census of 90-110 patients daily
  • Patient population includes general ED complaints, abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, behavioral health, and geriatric patients, with rare pediatric and occasional L&D cases
  • RN to patient ratio of 1:4, PCT ratio of 1:6-12
  • 12-hour night shift schedule with 36 hours per week
  • Various shift start times available across the department (0600-1830, 0900-2130, 1100-2330, 1200-0000, 1500-0330, 1800-0630)
  • Every other weekend rotation required
  • No on-call requirements
  • No floating required
  • Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system

Requirements

  • Active WA state or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required for traditional travelers
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and MOAB 1&2 or CPI certifications required
  • Strong general ED clinical skills
  • Strong soft skills including teamwork, organization, communication, and time management

Additional Information

  • Department supported by PCTs, 24/7 receptionist/HUC, non-patient-taking charge nurse, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and 24/7 hospitalist coverage
  • ED physicians and mid-level providers available on unit
  • Lab draws performed by phlebotomy, nurses, and techs
  • Orientation includes general hospital orientation followed by 1-2 shifts on unit and 2-3 shifts working independently to learn facility flow
  • Holiday coverage required as needed per unit
  • Up to 7 days of RTO approved automatically, with additional days requiring nurse manager approval
  • Any scrub color permitted
  • Free parking available
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
