Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 2 Trauma Center, requiring NE or compact RN licensure and night shift availability.

Details

• Level 2 Trauma Center Emergency Department with 27 beds
• All age patient population
• Support staff includes nurse aids, EMTs, and paramedics
• Phlebotomy team available for lab draws
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Self-scheduling available, though shifts are not guaranteed until finalized
• Weekend requirement of every third weekend (Fri/Sat nights or Sat/Sun days)
• Rotating holiday requirement
• No floating required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active NE or Compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Acute care setting experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration and to confirm residency
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a Level 2 Trauma Center setting
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year
• Must pass a pass/fail open-book exam on skills learned during orientation with a minimum score of 90% to continue the assignment
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them will result in contract termination
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO requests will not be approved after submission
