Description

American Traveler is hiring a first-time travel-eligible RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of ED experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work setting is a 629-bed short-term acute care hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
  • Teaching hospital environment
  • Emergency Department unit with floating required to ED holding
  • Patient ratio is 1 RN to 4 patients
  • Shifts are 3x12-hour nights (19:00–07:00) or days (07:00–19:00)
  • Every other weekend is typically required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Charting is performed in Epic (required)
  • Free on-site parking is available

Requirements

  • Active WA state or Compact RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proficiency in triage, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, medication administration, and continuous IV sedation
  • ICP monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management experience preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty are required prior to start

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
  • Former permanent staff of the Providence health system must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem) including location and dates
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted as locals
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be approved
  • Scrub color is open for RNs (any color accepted)
