Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a teaching hospital assignment requiring an active Oregon RN license and prior ER experience.

Details

  • Evening and night shift variable position (3x12 hours), rotating between 14:00-2:30 and 19:00-7:30
  • Every other weekend required, with possibility of back-to-back weekends based on need
  • Patient ratio of 1:4 in the Emergency Department
  • May float between units based on facility needs
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic for charting
  • Located within a Short Term Acute Care teaching hospital with 59 total staff beds

Requirements

  • Active Oregon RN license required, compact license must be in hand at submission
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (NRP preferred)
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, blood product administration (preferred), central line care/management (preferred)
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and triage required
  • Must provide full SSN and DOB for compliance
  • Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
  • Must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including dates and locations

Additional Information

  • Facility is a teaching hospital with Level I and II Trauma Center, STEMI, and Stroke Certified designations
  • Scrubs are provided for ED staff; any color accepted for other units
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment due to potential floating to sister facilities in Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent
  • Floating to other facilities, including Seaside, may be required; incentive pay and mileage reimbursement provided for Seaside floats
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
  • Returning staff may be eligible after a 3-month break, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
