Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Michigan
• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
• Demonstrated ability to assess and prioritize patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work scheduled night shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday
• Successful completion of required license verification, competency validation, background screening, and health clearance requirements

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions
• Perform focused patient assessments, support emergency department triage, provide ongoing monitoring, and complete timely reassessments
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to established protocols
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate care team
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and other healthcare professionals
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, responses to care, and patient outcomes
• Support a safe, organized, and compassionate environment for patients and colleagues
