Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to a diverse adult population in a fast-paced Observation unit that turns over 20–27 patients per day with an average length of stay of 27 hours
  • Monitor and assess patients requiring additional observation to determine appropriateness for hospital admission or safe discharge
  • Care for both emergency observation and admitted boarding patients, ranging from short-stay to full admissions
  • Collaborate with 24/7 provider coverage team to coordinate timely and effective patient care
  • Perform telemetry monitoring and respond to changes in patient condition

Required Qualifications

  • Active New York State RN License (NY License ONLY)
  • Minimum two years of Med/Surg experience
  • Telemetry experience required
  • BLS certification – American Heart Association ONLY
  • NIHSS certification required
  • ACLS certification – American Heart Association ONLY

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience in an Emergency Room or Observation unit setting
  • Comfort working in high-volume, rapidly changing clinical environments
