Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring at least one year of ED travel experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Level II Trauma Center with a 54-bed ER seeing an average of 220 patients per day
  • Fast-paced, high-acuity general Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric populations
  • STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
  • Floating required in rotation with staff based on clinical experience and facility floating policy
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active MD state or compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
  • At least 1 year of ED travel experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation required
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs required
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and CVA/stroke care required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response required
  • Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and shock/trauma care including gunshot wounds required
  • Central line care, blood product administration, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and ortho trauma experience preferred
  • 2-step PPD and flu vaccine required with no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a high-acuity adult and pediatric patient population in a very fast-paced trauma center environment
  • Expect to work some holidays and weekends
  • Must have at least 1 year of travel nursing experience to be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at a $5 lower bill rate
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
  • Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after a 1-year assignment before returning as a traveler
  • Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • Non-billable orientation modules averaging 4-8 hours must be completed during orientation and annually
