Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 36 months of ED experience and Level II trauma experience.

Details

• Emergency Department unit with 18 beds
• Patient population includes behavioral health, pediatric, and adult patients
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Days shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week
• Every 4th weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and Methodist West Hospital within contracted skillset/unit
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• PALS certification (AHA) required
• Active TNCC certification required
• Minimum 36 months of Emergency Department/Emergency Room experience required
• Experience caring for pediatric and adult patients required
• Experience with behavioral health patients highly preferred
• Experience with drips including sedation and vasoactive medications required
• Experience reading, measuring, and interpreting telemetry strips required
• Level II trauma experience required
• Level I trauma experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from supervisor/charge nurse/manager/director within 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a diverse patient population including behavioral health, pediatric, and adult cases
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• Navy blue, solid-color scrubs required
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum required ED experience
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible based on driver's license address
• Past UPH employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from working travel assignments at other UPH market facilities within 12 months of separation
