Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Room position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and an active MI license.

Details

  • Level II trauma emergency department in a 324-bed medical center
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Every third weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active Michigan (MI) RN license required, compact license not accepted
  • 2+ years of ER experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Travel and Epic experience preferred
  • Skills checklist pertinent to ER specialty, current within 1 year, required
  • 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care including triage, assessment, and history taking for acute and non-acute patients
  • Independently initiate emergency care in life-threatening situations in the absence of a physician
  • Perform complex and simple nursing procedures and assist physicians with procedures
  • Provide physical and psychological comfort to patients, families, and visitors
  • Deliver discharge instructions and coordinate follow-up care
  • Respond to ambulance radio calls and provide pre-hospital care orders independently
  • Navy blue scrub dress code required
  • Facility restricts consideration to candidates outside a 50-mile radius
  • No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested during the assignment
