Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to emergency medicine and demonstrate exceptional teamwork, a positive attitude, and compassion for patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
• Perform thorough assessments and triage patients based on acuity levels.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including common drips such as antibiotics and emergency medications.
• Utilize TeleHealth services and focus on purposeful rounding.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and HSS Team (workplace violence training).
• Strong ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.

Department Information

• Trauma Level: Certified Stroke Center
• Number of Beds/Trauma Bays: 18
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Common Diagnoses: Chest pain, abdominal pain, cough/congestion, orthopedic injuries, ENT emergencies, behavioral health issues, sepsis, and strokes.

Shifts & Scheduling

Shifts will include various combinations, such as 7 AM - 7 PM, 11 AM - 11 PM, 3 PM - 3 AM, and 7 PM - 7 AM. The schedule will be determined by leadership based on departmental needs, with weekend requirements consisting of every other weekend.

Additional Information

All nursing staff must adhere to the fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails in departments providing patient care. The orientation process will include 2 shifts of unit/department-specific training.
