Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Room (ER) team. This position will require working night shifts with a focus on providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Patient Population: 70-85 patients per day (60-70 adults & 10-20 pediatrics)
• Staffing Ratios: 1 RN to 4 patients
• Typical Diagnoses: Abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, chest pain, sepsis, stroke rule out, and trauma-related injuries.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required.
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS
  • PALS (AHA)
  • TNCC
• Experience or 'Must Have' Skills: ED experience is essential.

Work Environment

The ER consists of 33 total beds, including 25 adult beds, 8 pediatric beds, and 2 trauma bays. The team comprises ED physicians, mid-level providers, and nursing staff managing various patient complexities.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care in the Emergency Department setting.
• Manage ER holds for admissions within the unit.
• Participate in unit orientation and professional development opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with in-house security and other staff for a safe patient environment.

Additional Information

• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy scrubs
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 2 holidays per year (1 winter, 1 summer)
• Patient Transport: Mixed responsibilities between ED and radiology staff for patient transport.
• Electronic Medical Record System: Epic
