Responsibilities

• Utilize strong critical-thinking skills to adapt to available resources and apply a well-rounded clinical approach across a variety of responsibilities.
• Interpret and manage heart rhythm changes (dysrhythmias) and administer necessary interventions.
• Care for critically ill patients with multi-organ issues, including administering blood products and managing central lines.
• Start and maintain IVs, administer IV sedation, and manage vasopressors.
• Provide care for stroke (CVA) patients and those requiring ventilatory support, including BiPAP/CPAP management.
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and follow isolation precautions.
• Perform triage and manage patient flow in the emergency department.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an emergency department setting.
• Active state nursing license required (NY or compact). If no NY license, must have already applied and provide application date.
• Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Must pass a telemetry test onsite with two attempts allowed.
• Ability to work 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, with 36 guaranteed hours per week and every other weekend required.
• No disciplinary issues on nursing license.
