Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in a Level 3 trauma emergency department, requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and MN RN licensure.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting in an acute care hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
  • 3x12 night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Up to every other weekend required
  • May be placed on-call as needed for the department
  • No floating required outside of the unit, though floating within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital may occur if needed
  • No block scheduling accommodations, though the scheduler will work with you as best as possible
  • Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system

Requirements

  • Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (or ENPC), TNCC (or CALS)
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Level I Trauma experience preferred
  • Skills required include medication administration, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Triage skills preferred
  • At least one supervisor reference required for consideration
  • Documentation required for consideration includes date of birth, SSN, copies of certifications, and Nursys verification

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to patients in a Level 3 trauma center
  • Navy blue scrub color required
  • Must complete pre-start modules prior to beginning the assignment
  • Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility for consideration
  • Returning staff must have been gone at least 3 months from their last shift worked as permanent staff or per diem
  • RTO requests ideally should not exceed 5 days
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Fingerprinting is required as part of Minnesota state compliance and must be completed as early as possible due to processing times
