Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement patient care in the emergency department.
• Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the medical team.
• Administer medications and initiate intravenous therapy as necessary.
• Perform triage duties and effectively prioritize patient care based on clinical urgency.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans.
• Document all nursing care and patient interactions in compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Current state nursing license and BLS certification.
• ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an emergency department setting.
• Strong clinical skills in handling trauma, STEMI, stroke, and behavioral health emergencies.
• Experience with common drips such as insulin, cardiac drips, and sedation.
• Ability to perform EKGs and other critical assessments independently.

Work Environment

• Shift: Nights from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and holiday responsibilities.
• Fast-paced emergency room with an average of 66 patients treated per day.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
• Team-oriented environment, emphasizing accountability and respect among staff.
