Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 5+ years of ER experience and travel assignment experience.

Details

  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
  • General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric population
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • STEMI and Stroke certified facility
  • Shock/trauma capabilities including gunshot wound management
  • Floating within scope required if facility need arises
  • Uses Meditech Expanse EMR

Requirements

  • Active IN state or compact RN license required in-hand prior to start
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, CEN
  • Preferred certifications: ENPC, SANE, TNCC, CCRN, CMSRN, RN-BC
  • Minimum 5 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Previous travel assignment experience required
  • Meditech charting experience strongly preferred
  • Trauma Level I/II and community hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of arterial/central lines
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
  • Competency in managing neurological, respiratory, psychiatric, and orthopedic emergencies
  • Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as needed
  • Must be available to work 2 of the following 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Christmas, New Year's Eve/New Year's
  • Scrubs of any color permitted
  • Call-offs restricted to no more than one week
  • Local candidates accepted within an 80-mile radius at local rate
  • Pending state licenses are not accepted
