Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in an 11-bed medical Emergency Department, including a co-located Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) unit
• Triage and medically clear patients prior to entry into the CPEP space; assist with labs and EKG as needed within that unit
• Rotate through CPEP coverage in blocks (typically 6-hour blocks on days/mids; up to 12 hours on nights), working alongside PCT and behavioral health team members
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5 and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff including nurses, PCTs, CPEP behavioral health teams, and on-site security
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records (required)
• Float within the facility as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a psychiatric emergency or behavioral health adjacent setting
• Familiarity with CPEP workflows or psychiatric patient clearance processes
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
