Emergency Room Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or a valid compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent registered nursing experience; 3 years of Emergency Department experience preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Recent experience caring for both adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Proficiency with Epic or a comparable electronic medical record system
• Ability to work overnight nursing shifts and required weekends
• Ability to meet applicable travel assignment requirements, including the 50-mile radius rule

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a high-acuity Emergency Department
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, prioritize care, and respond effectively to changing clinical conditions
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Manage arterial lines and central lines
• Administer blood products, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation under established protocols
• Perform phlebotomy and initiate and maintain peripheral IV access
• Monitor patients during procedures and promptly communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team
• Collaborate with respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other clinical support services
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
