Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center on night shift, requiring TX/compact RN license and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

  • Fast-paced, high-acuity Emergency Department setting
  • Level II Trauma Center treating combined adult/pediatric patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
  • 36/48 alternating schedule with consideration for straight 48s
  • 12 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) required per contract
  • Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active RN license (TX or compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in trauma care including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
  • Proficient in triage and use of isolation precautions/PPE
  • Skilled in orthopedic splinting and stabilization
  • Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, overdose, and suicidal patients

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
  • Must work Thanksgiving and New Year's Day OR Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
  • Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with any positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Local candidates are not accepted
  • Travel experience is required for consideration
