Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience with both adult and pediatric patients and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital with 65 staffed beds
• Combined adult/pediatric general Emergency Department
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00) on a repeating block schedule of 3 days on, 7 days off, 3 days on, 1 day off
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Every other weekend required
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Performs triage, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and splint application/management

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, CPI
• Experience with both adult and pediatric patients required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Experience managing patients with abdominal pain, asthma, psychiatric conditions, and CVA required
• Documents required for consideration: SSN, DOB, RTO requests, valid state license or ability to practice upon start, and copies of certifications

Additional Information

• Must reside more than 30 miles from the facility
• RTO must be discussed directly with the manager during the interview
• Facility does not accommodate block schedule requests and candidates must be flexible with scheduling
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though travel experience is preferred
• Scrubs of any color permitted; no t-shirts, sweatshirts, or logos from other organizations allowed
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Located less than 1 hour from St. Louis and about 45 minutes from Scott Air Force Base
