Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring NC or compact license and prior Level I/II Trauma Center experience preferred.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting, general adult/pediatric combined
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Floating required within scope of training
  • No on-call requirements
  • Will need to pass an EKG/Telemetry exam onsite

Requirements

  • Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI (in hand or willing to obtain before start), NIHSS, PALS
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Stroke Certified and STEMI Certified facility experience preferred
  • Proficiency with charting systems required
  • Skills needed include triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and splinting/orthopedic trauma care
  • Experience managing pediatric and psychiatric emergency cases preferred
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medications required

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric cases including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions
  • Responsible for triage, emergency medication administration, and cardiac monitoring
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Orientation occurs on a biweekly basis
  • Flu vaccination required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
  • First-time travelers considered if they have at least 2 years of ED experience
  • Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
  • Previous permanent employment with the health system must be disclosed, and candidates must not have been permanent employees within the past 6 months
  • RTO must be limited to 5-7 days
