Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level III Trauma Center requiring prior ED travel experience and a LA or compact RN license.

Details

• Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
• Level III Trauma Center with stroke certification
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:45-07:15
• Every other weekend required
• Epic EMR experience required
• No call-in shifts required
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared emergency events, requiring the traveler to remain onsite or serve as part of a relief team

Requirements

• Active RN license (LA state or compact) required in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior ED travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Experience with a broad range of ED skills including trauma care, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, respiratory management, psychiatric emergencies, and pediatric care

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across adult and pediatric populations including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• Perform triage, EKG interpretation, splinting, and isolation precautions as needed
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Orientation held five days per week
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Facility does not accept local candidates and requires residence more than 65 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have been separated from the health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
