Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department requiring 3 years of ER experience and multiple advanced certifications.

Details

  • General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Every other weekend required
  • Float required between both Betsy Johnson and Central Harnett campuses as needed
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital setting with 733 staffed beds
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active NC or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 3 years of ER experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
  • NRP and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must pass Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
  • No background or license actions within the past 12 months
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction preferred
  • Experience with arterial line management preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Prior travel experience required
  • SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across general adult and pediatric populations including psychiatric, overdose, and suicidal patients
  • Administer emergency medications and manage cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia response
  • Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG readings
  • Scrub color requirement is royal blue and white
  • Call-offs require makeup shifts as determined by the department
  • Maximum RTO of 4 days, with holiday RTO limited to one major holiday
  • Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a travaler
  • Candidates may extend contracts once on day shift or twice on night shift, then must wait six months before reapplying
  • Local candidates residing within 50 miles of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center are not eligible
  • First-time travelers are accepted
