Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36–48 hours per week | Weekends required; scheduled days will vary based on staffing needs. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Every other holiday required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting, including patients across the age spectrum with some pediatric experience expected
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for emergency department patients
• Float within scope of practice to other units as staffing needs require
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes
• Document all patient care activities accurately using Epic EMR
• Adhere to facility policies, compliance requirements, and unit-specific protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• ACLS required
• BLS required
• PALS required
• TNCC required (may submit with TNCC pending, but must have prior to start date)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience; must include at least 1 year of Level I trauma experience or 2 years of Level II trauma experience, including some pediatric experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• References required
• Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Experience in a high-volume or academic medical center emergency department
• Comfort with pediatric emergency presentations
