Travel Emergency Room RN Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN or Emergency Department RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Active West Virginia or compact-state Registered Nurse license; a pending license may be accepted for submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Current PALS, NIHSS, and NRP certifications as required for the assignment
• TNCC certification preferred
• Strong recent experience with emergency assessment, triage, trauma management, and advanced life support
• Demonstrated expertise with IV access and emergency nursing interventions
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced emergency department

Emergency Room RN Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessments and prioritize care for patients with varying levels of acuity
• Complete triage, ongoing reassessments, and timely escalation of changes in patient condition
• Provide trauma management and advanced life support for medical and emergent conditions
• Establish and maintain IV access and perform appropriate emergency nursing interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate with respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, phlebotomy, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Accurately document nursing care and patient outcomes in Cerner
• Support a safe, compassionate, and efficient emergency department environment during night and weekend rotations
