Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2 years of ER experience and BLS/ACLS/PALS certification.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• Level II Trauma Center setting including shock/trauma, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment length
• On-call requirements apply: either 1 holiday with 2 on-call/additional shifts per 6 weeks, or 2 holidays with no on-call/additional shifts
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must obtain prior to starting)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS also required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience preferred, 1 year considered on a case-by-case basis
• Must pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test and Moderate Sedation Test on first day of orientation with only one attempt allowed
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients preferred
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management required
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors required
• Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Proficiency in isolation precautions/PPE and triage preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma and general ER cases
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• All RTO must be submitted with initial application; requests made afterward will not be considered
• Previous SRHS permanent staff are not eligible to return as travelers
• Attendance policy in effect: missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
• First-time travelers may be considered
