Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring ACLS, BLS, CPI, and PALS certifications with float capability between two ER locations.
Details
- Short term acute care hospital with 104 staffed beds
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric population
- Non-trauma ER handling shock, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, head injury, near drowning, and spinal cord injury cases
- STEMI and stroke certified facility
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Meditech Expanse charting system, experience preferred
- Required to float between two ER locations based on facility census and staffing needs
Requirements
- Active RN license (Indiana or Compact) required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, and PALS
- Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC, and ENPC
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
- Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
- Ability to interpret ABGs and cardiac dysrhythmias
- Triage and isolation precautions/PPE knowledge
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a broad range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric presentations
- Manage patients with orthopedic trauma, neuro-trauma, and traumatic brain injury
- At least one holiday shift required during the assignment
- Maximum of 1 RTO request permitted, up to 5 days
- Candidates requesting holiday time off must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted; those residing within a 50-mile radius are considered local and receive a rate differential
- Former employees must be separated from the facility for three years before returning as a traveler
- No parking cost for staff
